CURRENT NEWS
- Finally some good news about insurance: There will be some new insurance plans offered this time around. John Duggan will have a meeting with each building in mid March to share this information. There will be approximately 10 plans offered. Also, the pricing and the percentage the town covers will change. In some plans the family or individual will decrease slightly. There will be different plans offered, particularly for individuals, that will be priced better. Also, in some plans, the employee share may decrease and the percentage the town pays may increase. So, instead of the 50-50 split the percentage split the town covers will be in the 70%, especially for individual. So, the bottom line is, really look at the plans this year especially if your significant other carries the benefit. You might be able to save a little. The time to switch plans will be in May. If you opt to keep your same plan, you do not have to do anything during the open enrollment period.

- Educator Evaluation: A small committee made up of administration and teachers will be meeting starting February 29, to examine the new evaluation model developed by the DESE and the MTA. This is a mandatory subject of bargaining. So when the plan is completed it will need to be voted on. Although the framework was developed by the DESE/MTA we will have input on some of the components. So from time to time, survey questions etc. will be posted. Your representative will be placing an information sheet in your box on the skeleton of what the new plan looks like.

- Stand for Children: An information sheet developed by the MTA also be placed in your box. This is a potential ballot questions that may be on the ballot in November.
